Docks and lifts in Sister Bay
Sister Bay is the northern hub on the Green Bay side: marina water, North Bay Shore, the 42/57 junction, and the last real town before Ellison Bay, Gills Rock, and the ferry at Northport. In summer it is the peninsula’s north-end crowd. In April it is ice out, a marina that wants to open, and a lot of private piers still in the yard. If you own here and live in the cities, you are competing with every other north-end owner for the same two weeks of spring.
Door County Dock & Lift is seasonal install and removal, repair, boat lifts, and shore stations for the peninsula. Local 920 number goes here once the tenant is on the phone.
Why docks fail in Sister Bay
Green Bay ice still comes this far north. The harbor looks busy and sheltered in July; the same water shoves seasonal frames in winter. North of town, toward Ellison Bay, the shore opens up and the drive gets longer. Gills Rock and Northport are working water and Death’s Door wind, not a Sister Bay marina slip. If your place is “past Sister Bay,” say the actual town. We will not sell a marina-side quote for a Northport lot.
The north end books late and then wants everything in the week ice leaves. That is how people wait until June. A standing spring-and-fall route is the point of hiring this, not a Saturday panic after you drive up and the dock is still on the grass.
