Egg Harbor is the first harbor north of Sturgeon Bay on the Green Bay side of Highway 42. Bluff lots, a working harbor, and a lot of seasonal piers that come out when the village goes quiet. In August you cannot park. In April the same shore is ice scars and a dock still on the lawn. If you own here and live down-state, spring is a calendar problem, not a weekend project.

Why docks fail in Egg Harbor
This is Green Bay water, not Lake Michigan, but it is not a farm pond. Ice still comes down the bay. Seiches still drop the water out from under a crib. West and north wind stack ice on a shore that looked protected from the bluff. A seasonal pier that sits too long in the fall is how frames twist.
Bluff lots add a second problem: getting sections and a lift from the road to the water. Truck access, stairs, and whether a barge is the honest tool — that is the quote, not a catalog photo of a flat sand beach.
Egg Harbor is not Fish Creek and not Sister Bay. The harbor is smaller, the drive from the city is shorter, and we can often route it with Sturgeon Bay on the same spring pass. That only helps if you book it as a route, not as a Friday panic.
